All American Selection

All-America Selections is an independent non-profit organization that tests new, never-before-sold varieties for the home gardener. After a full season of anonymous trialing by volunteer horticulture professionals, only the top garden performers are given the AAS Winner award designation for their superior performance.

The Yellow of Paris Pumpkin is a large yellow to peach colored pumpkin that is an old French native that is still popular today. These large, flattened round beauties are very similar to Cinderella pumpkins and can weigh up to 50 pounds! This variety is mainly used for making pies, soup or baked. The Yellow of Paris is known for its delicious, tender flavor when cooked.

The All American Selection Collection is a mix of our favorite AAS winning tomatoes. These tomatoes have been selected from multiple judges to be the best all around tomatoes. They have been selected by taste, vigor, growth habits, disease resistance, shape, firmness, color, and so much more. Golden Jubilee - Meaty, thick, golden-orange walls that have an excellent mild flavor. Large Red Cherry - Large, cherry type tomato, produce in grape-like clusters on long, vigorous vines. Celebrity - Great disease resistant tomato. As close to perfect as you can get. Chef's Choice Orange - The name says it all. This neon orange tomato has a juicy wonderful flavor. Big Beefy - For over 19 years, this tomato has remained a garden favorite.

Thumbelina carrots are tender and sweet with no need to peel! It is the perfect bit size for fresh eating, stews and salads. Thumbelina's small size makes it a great choice for heavy or shallow soils or containers. No wonder it is an All-America Selections Winner from 1992!

The Super Chili is an AAS Pepper Variety Winner! A real super chili pepper, bred for compact, 15" inch plants cover with fruits. These hot peppers can reach upwards of 37,500 Scovilles. Great for spicy cuisine like Thai or Asian dishes.

The Straight Eight cucumber is a tip-top slicing cucumber and, like its name suggests, is perfectly straight! This Slicing Cucumber is a remarkably uniform cucumber that has a small seed cavity and crisp, fine-grained flesh. This variety is a heavy yielding cucumber and is an All-American selection in 1935. The Straight Eight is free from stippling and has a sweet and mild taste.

The Cherry Belle Radish is the earliest maturing, garden standard radish. This variety is a 1949 All-American Winner and there is no wonder why. This radish retains its fine eating quality all season. The Cherry Belle is a round, smooth, scarlet beauty. This radish is 3/4" inches across with a crisp, white flesh that is ideal for garnishes or use in salads.

The Pepitas F1 Pumpkin is a very delicious and nutritious improved variety that is named for its hullness, or naked seeds. This pumpkin is amazing eaten fresh in salads or roasted. This variety is not just delicious, but it also makes for a beautiful decoration during the fall season. Each plant produces a high yield of medium-sized, orange fruits with attractive green stripes.

Roxanne is a hybrid radish with uniform bright red color and a beautiful creamy white interior. Roxanne is a great tasting radish with no pithiness or bleeding even at a larger size. This radish stays firm and solid even when oversized, and holds well in the garden.

The Zinnia F1 Hybrid Sunshine Mix produces large, vibrant dahlia-like blooms that will brighten up any garden border or vase! These beautiful, bright flowers contrast well with its dark green foliage. This mix produces roots that are extra tough so that they will stand up to container production so that you can sow early and plant out late spring. Deadhead the faded blooms of the Sunshine Mix regularly to encourage even more blooms.

The Golden Jubilee Tomato has a meaty, thick, golden-orange skin with a mild flavor and is an All American Selection winning tomato! Originating from Italy, Caserta squash has been cherished for its unique appearance and exceptional flavor. The Big Beef Tomato is an All American Selection winner beefsteak tomato variety that has been a farm favorite for a reason! This tomato variety produces delicious 12 ounce, deep oblate to globe shaped red fruits. This high yielding, high quality tomato is crack and highly disease resistant.

The Snow Crown cauliflower is a delicious, mild and sweet hybrid. This cauliflower's head will get to 7-8 inches across and 1-2 pounds. The Snow Crown is extra early and adaptable and can be harvested in summer or fall. Be careful not to under-fertilize or water, stress can cause a purplish discoloration on the undersides of the head.

The Radiance Cosmo is a radiant flower variety that produces very stunning rose-colored petals that have a deep crimson eye. This popular variety was the All America Selections winner in 1948. Radiance is a suitable for cutting, beds and borders, and the pollinator garden.

The perfect choice for first-time kohlrabi growers as well as those kohlrabi veterans. Konan has a smooth, globe-shaped bulbs that can grow up to 6 inches in diameter and are the perfect upright size and shape for container gardening and garden plots.
