Urban Farmer cucumber varieties are trialed on our farm for flavor, yield, shape and disease resistance. We offer a wide selection of slicing, pickling, specialty and greenhouse specific cucumbers. These cucumber varieties will do well for home gardens and market growers.

The Dark Armenian cucumber is a beautiful cucumber that once is cut looks like the shape of a flower! The Dark Armenian, or Metki, has a dark skin and crispy flesh. This variety of cucumbers can grow over 18" long but are best picked at 12". These cucumbers are mostly ribbed and have an excellent sweet flavor.

An excellent producer of commercial quality cucumbers that are excellent for pickling. Produces early, large yields of bitter-free fruit; won’t become bitter if left on the vine.

The Pale Armenian cucumber is a crisp, mild flavored cucumber that grows long light green skinned fruits! This cucumber variety produces mild-tasting and deeply ribbed cucumbers. The elongated cucumbers yield uniform, easily digestible and fluted slices. The Pale Armenian is best grown on a trellis to produce straight and long cucumbers and can reach 24 inches long, but are best harvested at about 18 inches.

The Armenian Mix is a mixture of Pale and Dark Armenian cucumbers! Enjoy a combination of both pale and dark Armenian cucumbers which produce mild-tasting, deeply ribbed cucumbers. These elongated cucumbers yield uniform, easily digestible, fluted slices. The Armenian Mix is best grown on a trellis to produce straight and long cucumbers. The Carolina cucumber is a very early, pickling cucumber variety. This variety is a white-spined cucumber that is best used for pickling, but is also a good fresh eater! This cucumber produces excellent fruit and bearing quality. The Carolina is known for having a low percentage of nubs and crooks.

The Arkansas Little Leaf Cucumber is a medium bush type that produces delicious white spined fruits that are perfect for pickling! This variety has smaller, compact leaves that are great for growing in containers. This popular and reliable cucumber grows to be 3-4 inches long.

The Brown Russian cucumber looks like it came from another planet, and is fitting because the taste is out of this world! The brown-skinned 6-8" cucumbers have a clear white flesh that has a crisp, mellow flavor sparked with sugary high notes and no bitterness. This cucumber is best harvested at 5-7" in. long, prolific and hardy.

The Spacemaster 80 cucumber is a bush cucumber plant that is great for containers and small spaces. This variety is a widely adapted home garden type. This bush variety cucumber has an excellent flavor. If space is limited in the garden the Spacemaster 80 is the perfect cucumber plant for small spaces. This cucumber variety is a favorite to grow in pots and containers!

The Poinsett 76 Cucumber is a great slicing cucumber, as it is delicious cut up in salads or on sandwiches. This cucumber variety produces thick beautiful dark green fruits. The sun-loving Poinsett 76 will get to be 6-8 inches long when mature. This organic favorite is resistant to most cucumber diseases such as downy mildew, powdery mildew, angular leaf spot and anthracnose.

The Tasty Green cucumber is a burpless cucumber that is crisp and juicy. This hybrid is a deep green cucumber with long white spines. The Tasty Green is a great cucumber for hot and humid climates. The long 12" inch burpless cucumbers have an excellent, bitter free flavor. This variety is an excellent cucumber for greenhouse growing as it produces high yields.

The Manny cucumber is a Beit-Alpha type cucumber that is ideal for greenhouse cultivation. This cucumber variety is fast growing and high resistant to disease. This slicing cucumber is perfect for commercial growing.

The Pioneer cucumber is an excellent pickling cucumber. This variety is more uniform that other varieties. Pioneer has a dark green skin with a delicious crunchy flesh. This is a heavy yielder of pickling cucumber and grows well throughout the USA.

The Mexican Sour Gherkins cucumbers have been around since pre-Columbian times, but were not brought into botanical classification until the mid-1800s. Despite being a member of the Cucurbitaceae family, they're only distantly related to the cucumber and will not cross with other cucumber varieties. This variety is also said to be the most cold-tolerant of all cucumbers, and will continue to fruit until the first frost.

The Muncher cucumber is a favorite low acid slicer that is very prolific and tender. This cucumber plant variety produces a smooth nearly spineless, medium green cucumber that is crisp and delicious. Muncher can be pickled when young or eaten fresh when it reach 8-10" long and 2-3" wide. This cucumber's skin is thin and tasty, as it is easily eaten. The Muncher is non-bitter burpless cucumber that produces heavy yields and definitely a favorite!

The Sumter Cucumber is a favorite amongst many home gardeners and market growers for being a great slicer and pickling cucumber. This cucumber variety is a blocky medium-green fruit with white spines. The Sumter is well adapted for many different climates. This organic favorite is disease resistant.

The Double Yield cucumber is an excellent variety for gherkins and dills. The slender cucumbers are 5-6" long by 2" diameter and remains a dark-green color longer than most cucumbers. The Double Yield cucumber plant has high yields and a high percentage of sets producing two cucumbers at each leaf joint!
