When to Plant:
Sow 1-2 weeks after last frost date. Soil temperature should be above 65°F. Transplants should be started two weeks before planting date.
Fertilizing:
Heavy feeders. Use a 10-20-10 fertilizer when planting seed. Then again when fruits start to appear.
Harvesting:
Melon varieties will vary but most melons will slip off the vine when pulled away. Honeydews can be cut when the skin turns color.
